U.C.C. SUMMER CAMP STAFF 2008

v PROGRAM STAFF v

Age requirements:

Program Staff must be going into their Junior year in high school or older.

 

Responsibilities:

Program Staff are integral to the program at camp.  They are responsible for arts and crafts, recreation and games, night hikes, song and campfire leadership, and assisting the Camp Director as directed to ensure a great camp experience for all.   Program staff will participate in all camp activities, pre-camp preparations and post-camp clean-up.

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES OF A PROGRAM STAFF MEMBER:

·       Enthusiasm & Positive Attitude (even when tired!)

·       Hard worker!

·       Experience in a UCC summer camp (preferably Southwest Conference)

·       Leadership qualities plus ability to work closely with a team.

·       Ability when necessary to distinguish between their own leadership responsibilities and their peer relationships.

·       Enjoy working with children and youth of all camp ages.

·       Ability to work with a variety of adults.

·       A person of developing faith.

 

Super Camp vs.

Senior High Camp

Requirements

·       We are recruiting 9 program staff for Super Camp.

·       We need only 5-6 program staff for Senior High Camp.

·       So, four of the Super Camp program staff will not be “official” program staff for Senior High Camp. However, those who serve at Senior High Camp must also have been Program Staff at Super Camp.  Please check the following that indicate your interest:

 

£ I am only able or prefer to be PS at Super Camp    £ I’d like to be considered PS for both camp weeks   

Time requirements:

·       Program Staff for Super Camp must meet for PRE-CAMP PLANNING, TRAINING AND ORIENTATION RETREAT beginning Wednesday afternoon (Location for the Program Staff Pre-camp retreat will be announced.) You will then continue together under contract and covenant through Super Camp. You will be finished on Friday afternoon, June 20  We will also meet on Saturday, May 10 for pre-planning and group building.

·       Program Staff for Senior High Camp will arrive on Saturday morning, June 28,(meeting location to be announced) and will remain on duty until the camp equipment is inventoried and stored on Saturday afternoon, July 5.

·       COUNSELING STAFF ORIENTATION DAYS are: Saturday, June 7, for BOTH camps.  Attendance at these events is strongly encouraged if at all possible. Location will be announced.

 

 

FAILURE TO HONOR THE STAFF CONTRACT AND RESPONSIBILITY SHEET

MAY LEAD TO DISMISSAL FROM CAMP AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE.
