Age requirements:

    Young Junior Camp

 

Counselors must be at least age 18, CIT may be entering 10th grade or older

    Junior Camp

Counselors must be at least age 18, CIT may be entering 11th grade or older

    Junior High Camp

Counselors must be 21 years old or older by the end of 2008

    Senior High Camp

Counselors must be 24 years old or older by the end of 2008

Skills and Qualifications:

All those applying to be counselors must have positive recommendations from their references. Counselors need to be sensitive and responsible to the needs of children and youth in their charge. They need to be have a positive and inclusive attitude, able to discipline with gentleness and understanding, be an enthusiastic leader, interested in learning new things and sharing, be a good listener, be a person of open and tolerant faith, and be a cooperative “team player” with other counselors and program staff. Though our camp program does not involve high-risk activities, and the camp sites are both well developed and generally accessible, camp IS physically demanding. If you have physical limitations, please be sure to check with the Camp Director before applying.

Time requirements:

   STAFF TRAINING

  & ORIENTATION

YOU MUST ATTEND THE ORIENTATION DAY EVENT IN ORDER TO SERVE AS COUNSELOR. (Location will be announced)

·       ALL CAMP STAFFS:

               SATURDAY,  June 7:   8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

(If you are in high school, please note that this is an SAT testing day.  If it applies to you, please plan early to take the SAT on another test day. Attendance at the Staff Orientation Day is a requirement.)

 Arrival

You must arrive for pre-camp orientation on Saturdays June 14 for Super Camp, or June 28 for Senior High Camp, 4 p.m.   Details will be announced.

FAILURE TO HONOR THE STAFF CONTRACT AND COVENANT SHEET

MAY LEAD TO DISMISSAL FROM CAMP AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE.
