2008 Hurricanes continue to leave behind destruction and death
September 5, 2008
Over 200 deaths have been reported on Haiti from Hurricane Hanna.
Communities in Mississippi and Louisiana have experienced significant wind damage and extensive flooding from Hurricane Gustav, causing an estimated $6-$8 billion in damage.
Hurricane Ike, killing 61 people in Haiti and leaving devastation in Cuba, is on a path towards the US coast.

UCC/Church World Service staff are responding and One Great Hour emergency grants have been sent to our partners. Please keep everyone impacted by these disasters in your prayers.

Donate by mail to Emergency USA:

To help those affected by disasters you may, send gifts payable to your congregation marked for "Emergency USA" with the request they be sent through your Conference office on to Wider Church Ministries.

OR

Send gifts, made out to Wider Church Ministries and marked in the memo portion "Emergency USA" to the Office for Global Sharing of Resources; Wider Church  Ministries; 700 Prospect Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44115.
